Angle Sensors

Our TLE5014 magnetic angle sensor family is available as single and dual die products. All sensors out of this family come pre-configured and pre-calibrated as plug-and-play sensors – and are thus easy-to-use. Today, customers can choose between the following interfaces.TLE5014S16(D): SENT/PWM/SPC – SENT preconfiguredTLE5014P16(D): SENT/PWM/SPC – PWM preconfiguredTLE5014C16(D): SENT/PWM/SPC – SPC preconfiguredTLE5014SP16(D): SPIOn top of those protocol options, the sensor configuration can be adapted to any kind of application setup via a programmable E²PROM.TLE5014 magnetic angle sensors meet ISO 26262 ASIL C for the single chip and ISO 26262 ASIL D for the dual chip versions. Therefore, all products are ready for applications with highest functional safety requirements.

The Infineon TLE5012B is a 360° angle sensor that detects the orientation of a magnetic field. This is achieved by measuring sine and cosine angle components with monolithic integrated Giant Magneto Resistance (iGMR) elements. These raw signals (sine and cosine) are digitally processed internally to calculate the angle orientation of the magnetic field (magnet). The TLE5012B is a pre-calibrated sensor. The calibration parameters are stored in laser fuses. At start-up the values of the fuses are written into flip-flops, where these values can be changed by the application-specific parameters. Further precision of the angle measurement over a wide temperature range and a long lifetime can be improved by enabling an optional internal autocalibration algorithm. Data communications are accomplished with a bi-directional Synchronous Serial Communication (SSC) that is SPI-compatible. The sensor configuration is stored in registers, which are accessible by the SSC interface. Additionally four other interfaces are available with the TLE5012B: Pulse-Width-Modulation (PWM) Protocol, Short-PWM-Code (SPC) Protocol, Hall Switch Mode (HSM) and Incremental Interface (IIF). These interfaces can be used in parallel with SSC or alone. Pre-configured sensor derivates with different interface settings are available. Online diagnostic functions are provided to ensure reliable operation.

The TLE5x0916(D) XENSIVTM angle sensor is designed for angular position sensing in safety critical automotive and non- automotive applications. Their high accuracy combined with short propagation delay make especially the GMR sensor variants suitable for systems with high speeds and high accuracy demands such as brushless DC (BLDC) motors for actuators and electric power steering systems (EPS). The AMR sensor variants with their typically accuracy of 0.1° fit for systems with high speeds and high accuracy demands such as pedals, levers or brushless DC (BLDC) motors with an even number of pole pairs. At the same time their fast start-up time and low overall power consumption enables the device to be employed for low-power turn counting. Extremely low power consumption can be achieved with power cycling, where the advantage of fast power on time reduces the average power consumption. This magnetic sensor offers 5.0V, dual die GMR technology and is with TCO (Temperature Compensation Offset). The following derivatives of the TLE5x09A16(D) sensor family are available:Single die GMR: TLE5009A16Dual die GMR: TLE5009A16DSingle die AMR: TLE5109A16Dual die AMR: TLE5109A16DDual die AMR (bottom) / GMR (top): TLE5309DFunctional SafetySafety Manual and Safety Analysis Summary Report available on request.
