Linear sensors

The Infineon TLE4999C4-S0001 is a dual channel linear Hall sensor with a bus-capable digital Short-PWM-Code (SPC) interface. The Infineon TLE4999C4 S-0001 provides all means that are necessary to fulfill the state-of-the-art functional safety requirements on system level. It is developed in full compliance with ISO 26262. The device provides high redundancy on one chip by means of two sensor elements included within one monolithic silicon design. The two diverse Hall sensor elements („main” and „sub”) have internally separated signal paths within the chip. The sensor is developed in compliance to ISO 26262 (first edition 2011), supporting safety requirements on system level rated up to ASIL C. The product offers a high magnetic sensitivity drift of 2.5%. Furthermore the noise main channel is 1 LSB12 and sub channel 4 LSB12.

The device provides high redundancy on one chip by means of two sensor elements included within one monolithic silicon design. The two diverse Hall sensor elements („main” and „sub”) have internally separated signal paths within the chip. A plausibility check secures the high diagnostic coverage required for premium functional safety compliant systems up to ASIL D.The sensor provides a digital SPC (Short PWM Code) protocol on the OUT pin that is based on the SENT (Single Edge Nibble Transmission) standard. Configuration parameters can be programmed after assembly of the sensor in a module in an end-of-line calibration procedure using the serial inspection and configuration interface (SICI).The two measurement channels have separate analog supply domains controlled by the main and sub analog regulators. These regulators feed separate biasing units for the main and sub Hall sensor elements. The sensor provides 4 different output signal modes (12/14/16bit), protected by CRC and a rolling counter. A high speed SPC protocol is generated containing the data of the two DSPs in the SPC protocol encoder and transmitted after a SPC trigger pulse.

The Infineon XENSIV™ TLE4999C8 provides all means that are necessary to fulfill the state-of-the-art functional safety requirements on system level. It is developed in full compliance with ISO 26262. The device provides high redundancy on one chip by means of two sensor elements included within one monolithic silicon design. The two diverse Hall sensor elements („main” and „sub”) have internally separated signal paths within the chip. A plausibility check secures the high diagnostic coverage required for premium functional safety compliant systems up to ASIL D.The TLE4999C8 supply architecture splits up into a digital supply and two analog supply circuits. This basic supply set-up separates the fast switching digital part from the noise-sensitive analog circuits. Two analog supply domains are the basis to ensure a good separation of the internal voltage regulation for the main and sub Hall sensor elements. Following the signal part, one finds that each sensor element has its own analog - digital converter, digital signal processor (DSP) and memory area to ensure the maximum independency and superb noise performance. The two DSPs use their individual temperature-, stress- and Hall signal information of the related sensor cell as well as the compensation parameters stored in the EEPROM to calculate two independent output values.Additionally the sensor offers a multi-point calibration with 9 selectable set points for enhanced linearization of the output signal. For an easy and flexible adaptation to non-linearity of magnetic circuit designs, the chip provides 5 different calibration characteristics. The fast digital Short-PWM-Code (SPC) communication interface provides unit times from 3.0 us down to 0.5µs for transmission of main and sub signals in less than 500 µs and enables for 4 sensors on a single data line of a SPC bus. The sensor provides 4 different output signal modes (12/14/16bit), protected by CRC and a rolling counter.Several crosschecks of the TLE4999C8 on

The linear Hall IC TLE4998S8 has been designed specifically to meet the requirements of highly accurate angle and position detection. The sensor provides a digital SENT signal based on the SAE J2716 standard, which consists of a sequence of pulses. Each transmission consists of multiple data nibbles containing the Hall value, the temperature and status information of the sensor. The output stage is an open-drain driver pulling the output pin to low only. Therefore, the high level needs to be obtained by an external pull-up resistor. This output type has the advantage that the receiver may use an even lower supply voltage (e.g. 3.3 V). In this case the pull-up resistor must be connected to the given receiver supply.
