LITIX™ Power

The TLD5191ES is a synchronous MOSFET H-Bridge DC-DC controller with built-in protection features. This concept is beneficial for driving high power LEDs with maximum system efficiency and minimum number of external components. The TLD5191ES offers analog and digital (PWM) dimming and embedded PWM engine. The switching frequency is adjustable in the range of 200 kHz to 700 kHz. A built-in spread spectrum switching frequency modulation and the forced continuous current regulation mode improve the overall EMC behavior. Furthermore, the current mode regulation scheme provides a stable regulation loop maintained by small external compensation components. The adjustable soft start feature limits the current peak as well as voltage overshoot at start-up. The TLD5191ES is suitable for use in the automotive environment and in industrial and consumer applications as well (e.g. wireless charging).

The TLD6098-1EP supports fixed current and fixed voltage output step-up/step-down configurations such as Boost, Buck, Buck-Boost, SEPIC and Flyback topologies. The embedded spread spectrum modulator improves EMI performance. The device includes an integrated pulse width modulator to easily lower the LED brightness with reduced color shift. You also can modulate the output LED current using a digital pattern. TLD6098-1EP continuously monitors the load status: LED overcurrent, short to ground, overvoltage and overtemperature events are promptly indicated on a dedicated pin.

LITIX™ Power TLD6098-2ES is a dual-channel DC-DC boost controller with spread spectrum frequency modulation and with built-in diagnosis and protection features specially designed for LED drivers. The two channels of TLD6098-2ES independently support fixed current and fixed voltage output step-up/step-down configurations such as Boost, Buck, Buck-Boost, SEPIC, and Flyback topologies. The embedded spread spectrum modulator improves the EMI performances. For both channels, the integrated pulse width modulators are used to lower LED brightness with reduced color shift. You can modulate the output LED current using a digital pattern on dedicated pins. Each channel continuously monitors the load status: LED overcurrent, short to ground, overvoltage, and overtemperature events are promptly indicated on a dedicated pin.

It also includes an integrated pulse width modulator to easily implement a dimming function with reduced color shifting and a spread spectrum modulator to improve the EMI performance. It is designed to support fixed current and fixed voltage configurations in multiple topologies such as Boost, Buck, Buck-Boost, SEPIC and Flyback by simply adjusting the external components. The TLD5099EP drives a low side n-channel power MOSFET from an internal 5 V linear regulator.

The controller concept of the TLD5098EP allows multiple configurations such as Boost, Buck, Buck-Boost, SEPIC and Flyback by simply adjusting the external components. Thanks to this the TLD5098EP is a quite easy to use and flexible device that comes without SPI but still with a quite powerful feature set.TLD5098EP is a perfect choice when diagnostic as well as advanced dimming functionality like analog and digital dimming are required and where a DC-DC boost concept is needed like for Day-time-running lights or combined Low-/High-Beams.

The controller concept of the TLD5097EP allows multiple configurations such as Boost, Buck, Buck-Boost, SEPIC and Flyback by simply adjusting the external components. Thanks to this the TLD5097EP is a quite easy to use and flexible device that comes without SPI but still with a quite powerful feature set. It is very similar to TLD5098EP but without a dedicated PWM driver and without short to ground protection. Therefore it is a good alternative device for applications where the electronic is integrated in the same housing with the load like it is often the case for separately placed day-time-running lights or in some cost-effective LED headlamps.

This concept of a synchronous and seamless buck-boost regulation provides a very efficient solution for circuits where the output (load) voltage is on the same level as the input voltage, e.g. in short chains with 2 to 3 high power LEDs or laser diodes connected to a 12 V electrical system. Thanks to the flexibility to be used in current and in voltage mode it is also a perfect device for powering non LED applications like USB and mobile wireless charger or as multipurpose pre-regulation like for infotainment. As it comes without SPI it is also ideal for all application where a basic feature set is sufficient or where a Microcontroller is not used.

The main function of this device is to drive single or multiple series connected LEDs efficiently from a voltage source higher than the LED forward voltage by regulating a constant LED current. The constant current regulation is especially beneficial for LED color accuracy and long LED lifetime. The built in freewheeling diode and switching transistor with current sense requires less external components and saves system costs. High flexibility is achieved by placing low power resistors to adjust output currents up to 700mA and the regulator switching frequency (typ. 200kHz). An integrated PWM dimming engine provides a LED dimming function by placing a simple RC network to GND. This feature is dedicated for decentralized light modules without microcontroller involvement. In addition to that an integrated status pull down transistor can be used to simulate a minimum current flow for decentralized modules to avoid a wrong open load detection by a highside switch located in the body control module (BCM).

The controller concept of the TLD5095EL allows multiple configurations such as Boost, Buck, Buck-Boost, SEPIC and Flyback by simply adjusting the external components. TLD5095EL is the simplest member of the TLD509x series and comes with reduced maximum output voltage of 45V, less current accuracy and is missing the analog dimming feature as well as a short to ground protection.
