Constant Current Control IC for Transmission

The TLE8242-2L IC is an eight channel low-side constant current control pre-driver IC. Each channel can be configured to function either in direct PWM mode or in constant current mode by setting the appropriate CM bit in SPI message #1.
Models Available
The TLE6288R is a 6-channel (150 mOhm) Smart Multichannel Switch in Smart Power Technology. The IC has embedded protection, diagnosis and configurable functions. Channels 1-3 are high-side channels with integrated charge pump and can be programmed individually to do autonomous peak and hold current regulation with PWM. Channel 4-6 (also with integrated charge pump) can be configured to work as high-side switch or low-side switch. This IC can be used to drive standard automotive loads in high-side or low-side applications with switching frequencies up to 10 kHz. In addition the TLE6288R can be used to drive autonomously up to 3 inductive peak & hold (valves, coils) loads with programmable peak and hold current values.

The TLE 7241E is a dual channel constant current control solenoid driver with integrated DMOS power transistors. The average load current can be programmed to a value in the range of 0 mA to 1000 mA (with a 1 OHM external sense resistor) with 10 bits of resolution. Load current is controlled using a hysteretic control scheme with a programmable hysteresis value. A triangular “dither” waveform can be superimposed on the switching current waveform in order to improve the transfer function of the solenoid. The amplitude and frequency of the dither waveform are programmable by the SPI interface. The device is protected from damage due to over-current, overvoltage and over-temperature conditions, and is able to diagnose and report open loads, shorted loads, and loads shorted to ground.
